Words can't accurately express the impact that Kat has had on me both physically and mentally. I have always been a little chubby, and never been athletic. I always stayed away from trying anything physical because I have always been so self conscious. After college I packed on the pounds and after getting engaged last year I knew that I didn't want to look back at my wedding pictures and hate the way I looked. I put everything I could into losing weight and lost a bit on my own. However after an initial loss I became stuck, I couldn't get past one number on the scale no matter how hard worked. I tried every diet and exercise out there and kept getting more and more frustrated. I became obsessive about weighing food, counting calories and working out. I tried numerous online workout plans and online trainers with no luck. I was making myself and those around me miserable. After countless breakdowns I decided to reach out for help and contacted Kat. In three months of working together I blasted through my plateau and my perspective on fitness has completely changed. She somehow challenges me to do things I never thought I could, but never pushes too hard. She always has a great attitude and makes working out fun, even when she was coaching me at 9 months pregnant.  After working with Kat for a few months, I love the changes in my body and get so excited when I reach a new goal or accomplish something I couldn't do the week before. I no longer count every calorie and focus on eating whole, natural foods and listening to my body. Its been incredibly freeing to make progress without being miserable. When I started working out with Kat my only goal was to feel great for my wedding (which I do) but I have really gained so much more. I now feel in control and confident and from time to time I feel down right athletic! I am so happy that I found Kat and can't imagine where I'd be without her!

As an inexperienced fitness enthusiast I was always self-conscious of going to the gym. I'm a bigger guy with a beer gut who loves carbs and cheese and that was going to be challenging for me to change.  When I met Kat, I knew there was something magnetic about her personality and ability to inspire those around her.  After witnessing her success with Swét Ride and her confidence to bring me onto that team, I decided to commit to my health journey with Kat guiding me 2 times a week. The results have been amazing! Not only have I lost 11 lbs in just over a month, but I also feel more energetic than I have in years. Personal Training

As the owner of Swet Ride in Del Ray, I met Kat when I began taking classes from her in January of 2015. I became a RABID fan of her spin technique and began working with Kat to gradually improve my spin technique.  After some serious results from Spin, I was ready to take my work outs to the next level.  I went to Kat and asked for her advice.  Lucky me, Kat had just launched her personal training program at True Health, and I became a client immediately.

Working out with Kat is a special experience.  She pays very close attention to every move, she pushes me, but not too hard, and most importantly, she’s right there with me.  She cares about me as a person, and her commitment to me is humbling. She inspires me to work harder, be more disciplined, and BRING IT..to all of my workouts.   If you are willing to be focused, disciplined and do the work, Kat will get you there.  She is game changer.... genuinely.

 

Health Coaching

What makes Kat different from other trainers, is the whole life approach she took to working with me. When Kat developed a plan to enhance my physical self, she was equally as focused on my emotional health. It was important to Kat that we stayed focused on the whole picture, not just the weight, not just the workout but to be remain diligent in ensuring my emotional health remained in check.  Kat spent a great deal of time coaching me on my food choices, my work life, the gym work outs I was doing, the types, frequency, challenges, both personal and physical.  The output of each coaching session resulted in a personalized approach designed by Kat.  Kat updated my workout routine, determined what foods I needed to add and which ones I needed to take away, and committed to me that, if I followed the plans, I would see results. The impacts Kat made were life changing for me.  Not because I lost weight or lost body fat, both of which are true, but because my life became balanced…which would not have happened without Kat guide on the fitness and health journey.

In the year that I have known her, Kat has changed my life. Prior to discovering Swet Ride, my relationship with physical activity was an off-again/on-again one but after my first ride with Kat, I knew I was going to be a regular. Kat is one of the best spin instructors that I have ever had and her teaching technique is equally challenging and motivating. After many months of spinning 4+ times a week, my relationship with physical activity was back on track but I was not seeing the results I wanted and for which I was working so hard.

Frustrated and slightly scared of the upcoming onslaught of holiday indulgence (I can't say no to Christmas cookies), I met with Kat one-on-one. She made me realize that fitness encompasses more than just the physical aspect - it's also extremely impacted by nutrition, emotional and mental health, relationships and self-worth. It is only when all of these things are aligned (or when you are working on aligning them), that results are realized and able to be maintained. I took our conversations to heart and during the start of the new year, Kat made herself available to answer any question that I had (I had a lot!) and checked in often to hear of my progress and to offer encouragement. Since our initial one-on-one, I am down twenty pounds and feel stronger (literally and figuratively) than ever and I owe a large part of my success to the help I got from Kat!
